Acupuncture

Acupuncture works through stimulating the body's healing response and immune system. There are 14 meridians around the body on which pressure points lie. Stimulating these points along the meridians via inserting the acupuncture needles will unblock the meridians, therefore the Qi will run smoothly and evenly around the body. The acupuncture needles we use are sterile, stainless steel and single-use , which will prevent any risk of transmission of disease. The doctor will generally leave the acupuncture needles in place for about 15 to 30 minutes. After inserting the acupuncture needles, the normal feelings for most of the people are peace and relaxation. However, it is common to have reactions of experiencing numb, heavy, hot or occasionally feeling like an electric spark, which are good signs of gaining the Qi.

Chinese Herbs

Chinese Herbal therapy involves the use of natural plants, flowers, leaves, stalks and roots. Each has its specific characteristics and particular medical uses to treat the specific disease, to rectify either the hyperactivity or hypoactivity of the Yin and Yang, and to help to restore the body to its own natural physiological status.

Chinese Herbal therapies must be given by a qualified TCM doctor. The herbal medicine can be in the following two forms:

1. Loose herbs: which are selected by the doctor to suit specifically the patient's condition, the prescription could be changed by the doctor during the course of treatment based on the changes in the patient's symptoms.

2. Herbal powders: which are dried preparation of the herbal medicine.

John Hughes

“Originally I was a bit sceptical on alternative medicine but having repeatedly been frustrated with lack of results on medicine and been given painkillers I thought I would give it a try. I have to say the results are very effective and I am glad I took an open mind approach on the subject.”
